An official sample ballot for the Emery County general election was released for the Castle Dale East area, according to a document published September 2.
The ballot provides instructions for the upcoming general election scheduled for November 3, 2026.
The ballot includes several races for federal, state, and county offices. For U.S. House District 3, candidates include Jordan Leonard, JR Bird, and Carl Ingwell.
County office contests include seats for Commissioner A, Commissioner B, Treasurer, Attorney, Clerk/Auditor, Recorder, and Sheriff. Candidates listed for these positions include Kent S. Udell, Cassie Easley, Celeste Maloy, Ayden Scott, Michael R. Stoddard, Adonis Hooslyn, KEVEN A. JENSEN, Michael D. Olsen, Thomas Hansen, and Danielle Farley. Josie K. Stilson is also listed for Sheriff.
Voters will also decide on several judicial retention questions. These include the retention of Jill M. Pohlman in the office of Justice of the Supreme Court of Utah, as well as Michele M. Christiansen Forster, David Ned Mortensen, Tyson R. Huntington, Ryan M. Harris, Amy Jo Oliver, and Gregory Keith Orme for the Court of Appeals of Utah. Additionally, the ballot includes retention questions for Craig Miles Bunnell in the Juvenile Court of the Seventh Juvenile Court District and Jon R. Carpenter in the Emery County Justice Court.
Two proposed constitutional amendments are included on the ballot. Constitutional Amendment A asks if the Utah Constitution should be amended to change how proposed constitutional amendments are published, potentially requiring publication on the Utah Public Notice Website and the Lieutenant Governor's website for 60 days before the general election instead of in newspapers.
Constitutional Amendment B asks if the Utah Constitution should be amended to require that citizen-proposed laws that increase taxes compared to existing law be approved by at least 60% of voters rather than a simple majority.
The ballot advises voters to use a black or blue ballpoint pen to fill in the ovals. Voters who tear, deface, or wrongly mark a ballot are instructed to contact the County Clerk's office.
