Northbound I-15 lane closures are expected in Lehi through the weekend as crews work on the 2100 North interchange, according to a October 8 report. The Utah Department of Transportation stated that while closures began Wednesday night, they are also scheduled for Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday night.
On Thursday night, crews will begin closing lanes at 7 p.m., which will restrict travel to one lane by midnight. These lanes are scheduled to reopen by 4 p.m. Friday. During lane closures, speeds will be reduced to 60 mph.
On Saturday and Sunday night, lanes will begin closing at 7 p.m. and will be reduced to one lane by midnight. Lanes are scheduled to fully reopen at 7 a.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday, respectively.
The work being performed by crews includes relocating utilities, building stabilizing soil, and beginning the process of setting foundations for the new 2100 North interchange. This construction is part of a Utah Department of Transportation project to build the 2100 North freeway, which is a 2.8-mile connection intended to link I-15 to the Mountain View Corridor to improve east-to-west travel in northern Utah County.
Lanes will stay open Friday night to accommodate travel for BYU's football game.
