Nibley City is seeking qualified and driven interns to help build a happy, healthy, and connected community, according to a September 1 announcement. The internship program aims to support the Nibley City Recreation Department through the planning, organization, and implementation of community events and programs.
Working under the supervision of the Recreation Director or Recreation Coordinator, interns will have the opportunity to gain experience in community recreation. Tasks may include preparing promotional advertising, supporting events, monitoring programs, maintaining reports, and managing equipment inventory.
Depending on availability, experience, and specific projects, interns may receive an hourly wage of $11 to $13 per hour. The role offers a flexible schedule with weekends and holidays off, except for select special events. Interns can commit to anywhere from two to several months of work between January and November, typically working between 10 and 20 hours per week, with an average of 25 hours per week for most assigned programs.
The position involves both office work and outdoor recreation work, which may include exposure to adverse weather conditions and the lifting of heavy objects. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, and the ability to pull a trailer is considered a plus. Successful applicants must also pass a criminal background check.
Interns may be eligible for seasonal and part-time coordinator positions or recreation specialist opportunities as they become available. The role provides exposure to event management, program development, and budget guidelines, and offers connections to professionals through the Utah Parks and Recreation Association.
