Top-seeded Utah Valley will host No. 5 seed Cal Poly in the 2026 Big West Women's Soccer Championship semifinals on Saturday night at UCCU Stadium in Orem, Utah. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. MT and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Utah Valley (13-4-3) enters the tournament after capturing the outright regular-season championship in its inaugural season in the conference. The Wolverines finished the Big West campaign with an unbeaten 9-0-2 record, finishing atop the 12-team standings with 29 points. The team is currently riding a seven-match winning streak, which is the third-longest active streak in NCAA Division I women's soccer.
Cal Poly (8-7-5) advances to the semifinals following a 1-0 double-overtime victory against No. 4 seed California Baptist on Wednesday night. In that match, junior Isis Salazar-Ortega scored the golden goal in the 110th minute. The Mustangs are the defending Big West tournament champions and have reached the semifinals five times in the last six seasons.
The matchup marks the fourth all-time meeting between the programs, with Utah Valley holding a 3-0 series record. The teams most recently met on Oct. 10 in San Luis Obispo, where Utah Valley secured a 2-1 victory with goals from Kate Booth and Nixan Jackson.
Utah Valley has received national recognition, earning two votes in the Nov. 3 International Women's Soccer Coaches national Top-25 Coaches Poll. The Wolverines also hold the No. 1 spot in the IWSOC West Region rankings for the fourth consecutive week. Additionally, the team has secured several conference honors, including Offensive Player of the Year Sadie Beardall, Midfielder of the Year Sam Curtis, and Defensive Player of the Year Mia Owens.
A victory on Saturday would advance Utah Valley to the championship match scheduled for Nov. 14 at UCCU Stadium. The winner of that match will earn the Big West's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
