The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food and Millcreek will host the fourth annual Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes at Millcreek Common. The seasonal market is scheduled to be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting Sunday, Nov. 1, and will run through Dec. 24.

The marketplace will feature more than 50 local vendors from across the state, offering 100% Utah-grown and crafted specialty foods, agricultural goods, and artisan treasures. Located on the first floor of Millcreek City Hall at 1330 E. Chambers Ave. in Millcreek, the indoor Public Market venue allows visitors to shop for local products and also access outdoor activities such as ice skating and rock climbing.

Available gift options include locally-made sweets, seasonal treats, seasonings, savory-cured meats, pet treats, handmade soaps, and various other local products. According to Millcreek Common Public Marketing Manager Lacy Gill, the market has earned national recognition as an innovative way for shoppers to support local food makers and farmers.

Three special events are scheduled to take place during the holiday season. A Grateful Get Together is planned for Friday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m., featuring business samples, ice skating, Nigerian dwarf goats, and an annual tree lighting. The market will also support Small Business Saturday on Saturday, Nov. 28.

From Dec. 1-12, the market will host the second annual 12 Days of Christmas. During this period, every purchase made at the Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes will enter the buyer into a drawing for one of three gift baskets from participating businesses.

Utah’s Own is a Utah Department of Agriculture and Food program designed to support and promote Utah’s agriculture and food businesses to help fuel regional economic growth. Utah’s Own Program Manager Emily Ashby stated that the market provides an opportunity for visitors to shop for locally produced and hand-crafted gifts while supporting local businesses.
