The Orem City Planning Commission has approved several resolutions concerning local land use and zoning adjustments. The recent actions include a plat amendment for Berkshires Plat V and recommendations for changes to the Orem City Code.
Under Resolution No. PC-2026-0016, the commission approved a plat amendment for Berkshires Plat V, which is located generally at 1269 S 1100 East within the PD-18 zone.
Regarding city code updates, Resolution No. PC-2026-0019 recommends that the City Council amend the text of Article 22-11-17(B). This proposed change would include standard land use #7424, defined as recreation centers (general), as a permitted use in the PD-5 zone.
The commission also moved forward with recommendations for right-of-way and M2 zone adjustments. Resolution No. PC-2026-0020 provides a positive recommendation to the City Council to vacate a 0.16-acre portion of the 1000 South right-of-way that terminates at 590 East.
Additionally, through Resolution No. PC-2026-0021, the commission recommended amending Appendix A of the Orem City Code. The proposal seeks to include standard land use code #6231 for beauty and barber shops and standard land use code #6232 for tattoos and body piercing as permitted uses in the M2 zone.
