The 2020 Sundance Film Festival Awards Ceremony took place in Park City, Utah, following a ten-day event featuring 128 feature films. Jurors presented 28 prizes for feature filmmaking to honorees representing new achievements in global independent storytelling.
Top prizes were awarded to Minari, Boys State, Epicentro, and Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness.
Audience awards were presented to Minari, Crip Camp, The Reason I Jump, and Identifying Features (Sin Señas Particulares).
Bold, intimate, and humanizing stories prevailed across categories, with Grand Jury Prizes awarded to Minari.
Separately, the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and the Sundance Institute announced a multi-year landmark collaboration. This affiliation aims to develop the next generation of independent storytellers and is scheduled to begin in fall 2026.
