The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) reported that football standings across all six classifications remain at zero as the 2026 season approaches. While official rankings have not yet been established, the association has released critical information regarding summer practice regulations, championship schedules, and rules changes for the upcoming year.
Current Standings and Rankings
According to UHSAA data from July 26, 2026, no scores have been recorded in the 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, or 1A classifications. The association noted that these standings are based on scores input by schools into MaxPreps. Standing updates depend on coaches reporting scores through MaxPreps.com or the Teams by MaxPreps app.
In the 6A classification, several regions are currently listed with no games played or wins recorded. Region 1 includes Farmington, Syracuse, Davis, Weber, and Layton. Region 2 consists of Cedar Valley, Riverton, Copper Hills, Bingham, Mountain Ridge, Herriman, and Westlake. Region 3 features Skyridge, Lehi, Lone Peak, Corner Canyon, and American Fork.
In the 5A classification, Region 5 includes Clearfield, Box Elder, Northridge, Bonneville, Roy, and West Field. Region 6 contains Woods Cross, Viewmont, Olympus, Brighton, and Alta. Region 7 includes Wasatch, Maple Mountain, Springville, Payson, Timpview, Orem, Pleasant Grove, and Spanish Fork.
Summer Practice and Rules
The UHSAA has outlined specific protocols for summer training to ensure player safety. For the 2026 season, schools are permitted to choose between a Full Padded Camp or a THUD Camp. The association has explicitly stated that schools are not allowed to conduct both types of camps.
In addition to camp options, the UHSAA provides guidance on various football regulations, including the 2026 NFHS rules changes and the 2026 football mercy rule. The association also provides specific instructions regarding the play clock and overtime procedures to ensure standardized gameplay across the state.
Post-Season Championship Schedule
Looking ahead to the post-season, the UHSAA has released the schedule for the 2026 State Championships. The 6A Semifinals are scheduled for November 12, with the 6A Final set for November 20 at Rice-Eccles Stadium at the University of Utah.
The 5A Semifinals will take place on November 13, followed by the 5A Final on November 20, also held at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The 4A Semifinals are slated for November 12 and 13, with the 4A Final occurring on November 20.
For the lower classifications, the 3A Semifinals are scheduled for November 6, with the 3A Final on November 14 at Zions Bank Stadium at Southern Utah University. The 2A and 1A Semifinals are both scheduled for November 7, with their respective Finals held on November 14 at Zions Bank Stadium. The 1A 8-Player Semifinals are scheduled for November 6, with the 8-Player Final on November 14 at Zions Bank Stadium.
Historical Data and Broadcasts
The UHSAA maintains an extensive archive of past football data, including rankings and brackets from previous seasons. This includes records dating back to 2019 for football, as well as various other sports such as girls soccer, volleyball, and baseball.

Ticketing and Awards
To facilitate game attendance, the UHSAA utilizes GoFan, which the organization describes as the largest high school ticketing solution in the United States. This platform allows for digital ticket management for UHSAA schools.
In addition to ticketing, the UHSAA recognizes individual excellence through various awards, including Coach of the Month, presented by the Las Vegas Raiders; Play of the Week, presented by Hudl; Athlete of the Week, presented by Holiday; and Team of the Month, presented by Wendy's.

The association's administrative leadership has seen recent transitions, including the appointment of J. Ryan Bishop as Seventh Executive Director and the retirement of Executive Director Rob Cuff.
