Roy City has issued a public notice stating it is seeking an individual to fill a vacancy on its volunteer Planning Commission. The commission consists of nine members, including seven full members and two alternates.
Commission Role and Responsibilities
The body serves as the authority on land use matters and acts as a citizen advisory group. It provides recommendations to the City Council concerning changes to the General Plan, City Land Use Ordinance, rezones, and other land use matters.

The city is looking for candidates who are residents of the city and have interests in housing development, urban design, or community planning.
Time Commitment and Duties
Serving on the commission requires a time commitment of approximately 10 to 15 hours per month. Duties include reviewing technical information and maps, conducting site visits, and attending regular meetings held at City Hall on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 pm.
