Plain City Elementary School highlighted 1st grade teacher Leslie Wentz in a social media spotlight published October 29, 2026. Wentz has been an educator within the Weber School District for ten years, a tenure that includes four years of long-term substitute teaching before transitioning into her current classroom role.
Originally from Clinton, Utah, Wentz discovered her passion for elementary education while serving as a long-term substitute for Mrs. Argile in a Plain City Elementary Kindergarten classroom. In her current 1st grade classroom, she focuses on teaching math and aims to help every student become the best version of themselves.
Wentz described the culture at Plain City Elementary as a close-knit environment that feels like a second family composed of faculty, students, and parents.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Wentz served as the PTA President. In that role, she led the effort to move the annual Halloween costume parade outdoors, creating a tradition that continues to be celebrated by students today.
Outside of her professional life, Wentz is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys camping, fishing, and big game hunting. She also enjoys traveling with her family and spending time in the sun.
Wentz's personal preferences include tropical colors such as pink, blue, and green, as well as snacks like movie popcorn and Gummy Cluster Nerds. Her preferred beverages include Scooters, Starbucks, or Diet Dr. Pepper.
