Kaysville City is seeking donations for the Kaysville GIVES program, an initiative that began seven years ago to provide support to community members during Christmas. The program has expanded significantly since its inception, growing from assisting 15 families in its first year to providing for more than 100 families last year through the generosity of local residents and businesses.
Partnering organizations for community needs
The program coordinates with several organizations to identify community needs, including Mountain High School, the Family Enrichment Center, Safe Harbor, Mercy Housing, and local schools with Kaysville residents.
Ways to contribute and events
There are multiple ways for the public to contribute. Residents can select tags from a virtual giving tree or use an Amazon Gift List for suggested donations, which are delivered directly to Young Truck and Trailer in Kaysville. Additionally, the Kaysville Fire Department, Youth City Council, and City Council will host a Fill the Fire Truck event on December 2 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Fill the Fire Truck details
During the Fill the Fire Truck event, organizers will accept cash, checks, and gift card donations. They are also collecting new toys, books, warm clothes, boots, shoes, socks, underwear, coats, hats, and gloves for children of all ages. Santa and the Grinch will be present at the event for photos.
Financial donations and deadlines
Financial contributions can be made online or in person at Kaysville City Hall. For donations exceeding $250, a tax write-off receipt is available. Payments can also be made over the phone by calling the city office. All items from the virtual giving tree are due back to Kaysville City Hall or Young Truck and Trailer by December 8.
