The Kaysville GIVES initiative is seeking community support to reach its 2024 goal of gathering over 1,800 Christmas gifts for more than 130 local families. The citywide program involves volunteers, business owners, and city staff, including a Fill the Fire Truck event featuring the Kaysville Fire Department, City Council, and Youth City Council.
Collaborating with local schools
The initiative collaborates with all Kaysville elementary, junior high, and high schools to support families in need. Additionally, the program extends assistance to the Family Enrichment Center, Safe Harbor, and Mountain High to provide essential resources for students and families.
Ways to donate gifts
Residents can participate through several methods. A virtual Giving Tree allows individuals to choose items to donate, with all items due by December 12, 2024. Donations can be dropped off at Kaysville City Hall or Young Truck and Trailer at 220 N. 650 W. An Amazon Wish List is also available for online gift purchases, which are delivered directly to Young Truck and Trailer.
Making financial contributions
Financial contributions are also accepted for those unable to shop. Donations exceeding $250 are eligible for a tax write-off receipt. In-person donations can be made at Kaysville City Hall, located at 23 E. Center Street.
Upcoming community ceremonies
Other community updates include the Angel of Hope Candlelight Ceremony scheduled for December 6 at 7:00 pm at the Kaysville Cemetery to honor lost children. Additionally, a ceremony for National Wreaths Across America Day will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Elmer J. Criddle Memorial and flagpole.
