Iron County Schools will host its 4th annual ICSD Gifted Parent Education Night on Oct. 16. The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the district office board room located at 2077 W. Royal Hunte Drive.
The informational evening is designed to help families understand the unique academic and social-emotional needs of advanced learners. Participants will be provided with practical strategies to use at home to support a child's growth. The session will include ways to incorporate elements of the Depth & Complexity Framework to foster creative and critical thinking.
The program aims to encourage curiosity, independence, and critical thinking through meaningful conversations and everyday learning opportunities. Organizers stated that the information will benefit most parents, even if their child has not been formally identified as gifted.
East Elementary is located at 255 E. College Ave. in Cedar City, UT. The school's office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
