The Lake Point Planning and Zoning Commission will host a public hearing on Oct. 26, 2026, to discuss proposed amendments to specific sections of the sign regulations for all Lake Point zones. According to a notice published Oct. 15, the meeting is scheduled to begin at or after 7:00 PM at the Lake Point Fire Station.
The proposed changes include repealing, amending, and reorganizing duplicate references and chapters. Specifically, the commission aims to address Chapter 13.3 concerning signs on public property and Section 13.8.6.4 regarding signs for home-based businesses.
Amendments to Chapter 13.10 involve several updates, including the definition of 'sign' and the relocation of definitions for private and public signs, public property, and sight triangles. The updates also include replacing and updating illustrations for types of signs and amending standards for externally illuminated signs.
Additional regulatory changes involve amending standards for monument sign height, pole and pylon sign spacing, and additional calculations for shared pole or pylon signs. The amendments also seek to clarify property owner cost allocation on nonconforming-sign and sign-removal provisions, and to conform to state-highway authority and outdoor-advertising compliance obligations.
The public hearing will take place at the Lake Point Fire Station located at 1528 Sunset Rd., Lake Point, UT. Drafts of the proposed regulations can be found on the Utah Public Notification Website and the Lake Point website under City Records within the Planning and Zoning department.
Individuals requiring assistance to participate in the meeting in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act must make requests at least three working days in advance.
