Bountiful Elementary has announced that its focus for September is Effort Matters, emphasizing that small individual choices contribute to a positive school community, according to a September 5 statement.
The school outlined several key dates for the month, including no school on Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day. Other upcoming events include Safety Week from Sept. 14–18, Fall Picture Day on Sept. 17, a PTA Family Magic Night Extravaganza on Sept. 21, and a Scholastic Book Fair from Sept. 22–25. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Sept. 23–25, with a 1:30 p.m. dismissal each day during that period.
Families are encouraged to use the myDSD platform to sign outstanding documents and schedule parent-teacher conference appointments. Additionally, Sept. 7 is the final day for families to purchase the optional District Device Protection Plan through myDSD.
Regarding school safety, officials requested that adults slow down and obey traffic laws during arrival and dismissal to ensure the safety of over 500 students. Drivers should avoid blocking driveways or intersections and should remain in the drop-off line until they reach the designated unloading area. Students should exit vehicles from the passenger side directly toward the curb.
The school also highlighted student recognition programs, such as PAWS Tickets, Caught Being PAW
Some Coins, Brag Tags, and the Student of the Month program, which recognizes students who exemplify the monthly focus of effort.
The school's monthly focus also includes topics such as personal hygiene and digital citizenship. For the current month, students in grades 3–6 have been learning about cyberbullying and online harms.
