The City of St. George is hosting the third annual Dixie Days Dash 2K/4K, a heritage-themed race located in downtown St. George. The event offers participants a choice between a 2K or 4K course and follows the route of the Lions Dixie Roundup Parade.
According to a notice from the City of St. George, the race begins at 200 South and 400 East near the Pickleball Courts of Vernon Worthen Park. Participants can walk, jog, or run the course, and all finishers will receive a medal depicting a cowboy hat. A new addition to the event is a Rocking Run Foam Party located at the finish line.
Jessica Lindsay, Operations Coordinator for Races and Events for the City of St. George, stated that the race is a way for the community to celebrate the history and pioneer spirit of Dixie Days. She noted that because the race follows the parade route, participants can be cheered on by the community.
Other festivities scheduled for the same day include the Dixie Days Festival at Vernon Worthen Park, which features entertainment, tractor rides, and a climbing wall. Additionally, a carnival is being held in the west parking lot of Historic Town Square.
