Allen Lamar Edwards, 76, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Price, Utah, surrounded by his family and friends, according to announcements from Mitchell Funeral Home.
Early life and upbringing
Born on December 1, 1949, in Dragerton, Utah, Edwards was the son of Lamar Carlyle and Wardella Laverne Ward Edwards. He spent much of his life in the Price area, where he raised his three children.
Marriage and family history
On February 7, 1970, Edwards married Ricki Jill Mortensen in Elmo, Utah. The couple remained married until the death of Mortensen on November 10, 2009.
Personal character and skills
Those close to Edwards described him as an honorable man with a significant mechanical aptitude. According to his obituary, he possessed the ability to fix almost any mechanical issue and was noted for being an exceptional driver.
His family noted that he shared his mechanical gifts and adventurous spirit with both friends and family members, often demonstrating through his actions that no road was too difficult to travel and no problem was unsolable.
Family survivors and legacy
Edwards is survived by several family members, including his brother, Larry (Pat) Edwards. His children include Scott Edwards and his wife Lori, Kevin Edwards and his wife Jannilyn, and Jill Ison and her husband Jeremy.
His legacy continues through 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death
Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Ricki Mortensen, as well as his parents, Lamar and Wardella Edwards.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home located at 233 East Main Street in Price.
A funeral service is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on that same day at the funeral home.
Following the services, burial will take place at the Elmo Town Cemetery in Elmo, Utah.
