To receive public input regarding the City of South Salt Lake proposed increase to property tax
revenue.
Stewart Okobia, Finance Director, stated that the City of South Salt Lake was proposing to

For the average resident, the tax would increase from approximately $644 to $727, representing
an increase of about $83.50 per year, or roughly $7 per month. For an average business in the
City, the tax would increase from approximately $1,171 to $1,323.52, which is an increase of
about $151.81 per year, or roughly $13 per month.
Mr. Okobia further noted that if the proposed budget were approved, the City would receive an
additional $1,839,537 in property tax revenue for the year. This would represent an
approximate 12% budget increase from the prior year's property tax receipts.
