Young adults gathered in Salt Lake City for a weekend of worship, learning, service, and activities, including a concert headlined by Iam Tongi, according to a August 16 report.
The event included concerts on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
Iam Tongi, a 21-year-old Latter-day Saint from Hawaii and winner of American Idol Season 21, headlined the 2026 Utah Area Young Single Adult Conference concerts on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15. During his performance, Tongi sang several of his own songs and shared the gospel song Consider the Lilies, which he noted is his mother's favorite. He used his music to share his testimony of Jesus Christ and connect with the conference theme, Together in Christ.
Several guest artists joined the musical program. The Billboard-charting collective the king will come opened the concert. Reggae artist Junior Maile performed, and Nela Otuafi performed the song How Can I Be, using the performance to share a testimony of the Book of Mormon.
The weekend featured a variety of activities for young adults, including service projects, devotionals, classes, family history activities, and social opportunities such as karaoke, line dancing, and speed dating. Attendees had the chance to build friendships and connect with others who share their values.
For some attendees, the breakout classes were a highlight. Lizzy Lang, a YSA from St. George, Utah, stated the classes felt like mini testimony meetings that provided opportunities for spiritual teaching and revelation.
The conference provided an environment for worship and connection. Joseph Christiansen, a YSA from Alpine, Utah, said the experience exceeded his expectations.
