Bountiful Elementary is focusing on the theme Effort Matters for the month of September, with a specific emphasis on Safety Week according to a September 13 statement. The initiative aims to keep students safe, prepared, and connected through school-wide safety reminders and community engagement.
Safety Week is scheduled for September 14–18. During this time, the school is providing reminders regarding safe arrival and dismissal procedures, building security, digital privacy, and the use of shared spaces. To maintain traffic flow, the school requested that drivers use the unloading and loading zones for student transit and keep students in vehicles while in the waiting zone. Additionally, all visitors are required to enter through the main front doors and present a photo ID.
Upcoming school activities include Fall Picture Day on Thursday, September 17, and a Safe Routes Utah Assembly on Friday, September 18. The PTA will host a Family Magic Night Extravaganza on Monday, September 21. The Scholastic Book Fair and Parent-Teacher Conferences are both scheduled for September 23–25. During conference week, school will dismiss early at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, Thursday, September 24, and Friday, September 25. Families are asked to schedule conference appointments through myDSD by September 20.
The school is also promoting digital citizenship and personal safety habits. Families are encouraged to discuss private versus personal information and password security with children. For physical safety on campus, students are required to walk bicycles, scooters, and skateboards while inside school fences. The school also noted that after-school bathrooms are closed unless a school-sponsored event is being held, though families using the playground may access bathrooms at the adjacent city park.
Other upcoming opportunities for students include the PTA Reflections contest and the Martin Luther King Jr. Speech Contest. The school also announced that a spring production of Mary Poppins Jr. is being planned.
