Ogden High completed a perfect Region 12 girls soccer campaign on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, by defeating Ben Lomond 6-0 during a regular-season finale. The shutout victory on senior night secured an undefeated record in region play for the Tigers.
The Tigers entered the game with an 11-6 overall record. In the match, five different players scored goals, including senior Ryklie Moss, senior Sophia Gray, and sophomore Gwenyth Aardema, who helped build a 4-0 halftime lead. Senior Seren Gee scored in the second half, and co-captain Elle Weston completed a brace with a goal in the 59th minute. Whitney Fife and Indie Ketcham shared goalkeeping duties to maintain the clean sheet against Ben Lomond.
Ogden coach Alexis King noted that the preseason was designed to challenge the team against talented opponents to prepare them for competition. While the Tigers struggled with a 3-6 preseason, King said the difficult schedule helped the team build resilience and confidence during the region season. The Tigers previously defeated Grantsville in a close match on Tuesday, scoring a winning goal in the final minute.
Ogden High has won two of the last three girls 3A state championships and returned seven seniors from their previous title-winning team. Co-captain Elle Weston stated that the team's mindset has shifted toward playoff mode as they aim to achieve back-to-back championships, a feat the program has not yet accomplished.
The playoffs are expected to be announced next week.
