The UHSAA released the remaining girls tennis state championship brackets for the 6A and 4A tournaments on Thursday morning. The 6A tournament is scheduled to begin with first rounds on Saturday at Brighton High School.
The 6A tournament will conclude between Oct. 8 and Oct. 10 at the Liberty Park Tennis Center in Salt Lake City. In the 6A first singles round of 16 at Liberty Park, No. 9 Grace Chapman of Davis will play No. 8 Ella Gonzalez of Lehi, while No. 5 Emberlie Heap faces No. 12 Ava Byrd of Herriman. No. 7 Sadie Smith is scheduled to play No. 10 Shae Swenson.
In the 6A second singles first round at Brighton, No. 16 Shaelynn Bates of Layton will face No. 17 Della Ballard of Cedar Valley. The second singles round of 16 at Liberty Park includes No. 9 Makynli Smith of Syracuse against No. 8 Halle Searle of Copper Hills, No. 5 Gentry Chapman of Davis against No. 12 Grace Browning of Westlake, and No. 3 Scarlett Holker of Weber against No. 14 Jane Gates of Farmington.
The 6A third singles round of 16 at Liberty Park features No. 9 Charlie Moultrie of Davis against No. 8 Sahasya Raj Sandepogu of Lehi, No. 5 Emma Moore of Weber against No. 12 Cecilia Pulley of Mountain Ridge, No. 13 Inés Llorens of Syracuse against No. 4 Emily Creason of Corner Canyon, and No. 15 Natalia Losik of Layton against No. 2 Maezie Oswald of Skyridge.
First doubles matchups for the 6A round of 16 at Liberty Park include No. 9 Rindlisbacher/Chambers of Weber against No. 8 Parker/Nielsen of Westlake, No. 13 Jeppesen/King of Syracuse against No. 4 Egbert/Dalton of American Fork, No. 7 Cook/Gibbs against No. 10 Molloy/Rasmussen of Herriman, and No. 15 Hill/Burton against No. 2 Rasband/Diederich of Lone Peak.
The 6A second doubles round of 16 at Liberty Park will feature No. 9 Sant/Landeen of Davis against No. 8 Hoyal/Pehrson of Copper Hills, No. 14 Hansen/Reynolds of Syracuse against No. 3 Moss/Brown of Bingham, No. 10 A. Gibby/Minnoch of Weber against No. 7 E. Gibby/Paxman of Westlake, and No. 15 Jessop/Gardner of Layton against No. 2 Sameer/Santiago of Lone Peak.
The 3A tournament is scheduled to begin Thursday, Oct. 8 at Brighton, with subsequent rounds scheduled for Oct. 9-10 at Liberty Park. The 4A tournament includes first round matchups at Brighton, such as first singles No. 19 Savana Corbridge of Bear River against No. 14 McKinley Labrum of Snow Canyon, and second singles No. 17 Madison Phillips of Bear River against No. 16 Elle Smith of Wasatch. Other 4A first round matches at Brighton include third singles No. 20 Paige Jones of Bear River against No. 13 Grace Hadfield of Mountain Crest, first doubles No. 22 Rhodes/Duncan of Bear River against No. 11 Chachas/Lee of Judge Memorial, and second doubles No. 21 Deaton/Goodliffe of Bear River against No. 12 Archibald/Kueschmann of Provo.
