Brighton High School in Cottonwood Heights has provided information for students regarding Advanced Placement testing and registration procedures. According to a notice on the school's website, the school offers 22 AP classes that allow students to earn college credit with a passing score of 3 or higher.
Students must use MyAP to register for specific sections and receive a join code after being prompted by their teacher on the first day of school. For students choosing to self-study for an exam, the school requires contacting AP Testing Coordinator Erin Kaufman for a join code.
Testing fees are set at $103 and must be paid through Total Registration before Halloween to avoid late fees. A $42 late fee per test applies to full-year classes if payment is not received by Nov. 14. Second-semester classes must be paid in full by March 13, or the exams will be canceled without a refund.
Reduced test fees may be available through fee waivers, free or reduced lunch, or special consideration following a meeting with an assigned assistant principal.
The College Board has transitioned many exams to a new digital format. All Social Studies and English exams have moved to a digital format, while Science and Math courses have moved to a hybrid model consisting of a digital multiple-choice section and a paper-free response section.
Students requiring accommodations through a 504, IHP, or other district plan must submit written requests to Erin Kaufman by Dec. 19 for approval by the College Board.
