Utah Democratic Party leaders gathered at the Kanab Center on Saturday, August 8, for the party’s third-quarter State Central Committee meeting, according to a August 19 report.
State party leaders chose Kane County as the meeting location to help increase support and involvement for Democratic organizations throughout rural Utah. The meeting was also accessible online for Democratic leaders across the state.
Prior to the committee meeting, Kane County Democratic leaders held a closed-door session with state party leadership to discuss local issues and methods for the state organization to support Democrats in Kane County.
Kane County Democratic Party Chair Caralee Woods stated that the party becomes stronger when members come together and noted that Kane County has received support from the State Party level.
The State Central Committee meeting addressed party business and included local Democratic leaders, state officials, candidates, and supporters.
Following the meeting, the Kane County Democratic Party held a fundraiser consisting of a silent auction and a barbecue potluck dinner in the Kanab Center ballroom. More than 60 people attended the event.
