Students at Cook Elementary School welcomed author McCall Hoyle for a visit focused on inspiring a love of reading and writing, according to a notice on the school's website.
During the visit, Hoyle shared her experiences as an author and discussed the importance and joy of reading. As a sixth-grade teacher and author, she provided students with a glimpse into the world of training dogs. Her middle grade books, including Stella, Just Gus, Millie, and Forever Ripley, are part of Shadow Mountain Publishing’s empathy-building line of books.
The event was intended to inspire students to read more and potentially pursue writing their own stories. A Book Fest Live was scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Syracuse High School, where families could meet Hoyle and other authors.
