Social media personality and lay apologist Chandler David Hendry died on August 7, 2026, following a three-vehicle crash in Lehi, Utah. Hendry, who operated under the name Chuck Hendry, was traveling to the FAIR apologetics conference at the time of the accident.
According to reports, the crash occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m. at the intersection of Morning Vista Road and Timpanogos Highway. Witnesses stated that Hendry ran a red light and struck two other vehicles, though the occupants of those vehicles were not seriously injured. Police noted that Hendry was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred.
Hendry was the founder of Restored Truth, a ministry focused on defending LDS doctrine and encouraging missionary work. His content included discussions on scripture, Christian and LDS history, and interfaith dialogue. His YouTube channel had approximately 11,000 subscribers at the time of his death.
Hendry was from Midway, Utah, and attended Wasatch High School. He married AnaLynn Hudson Hendry in a sealing ceremony at the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple on September 21, 2024.
An in-person Mission Prep event that Hendry had organized in Orem, Utah, proceeded on August 8 with the support of his wife. A GoFundMe campaign was established to assist his wife and parents with funeral expenses, raising over $76,000 toward an $80,000 goal.
