The Riverton Police Department's Citizen's Police Academy provides an opportunity for community members to learn about the mission and operations of the department. The eight-week program includes hands-on demonstrations, training scenarios, and educational workshops led by instructors selected from within the department.
Due to high demand, applications are required for consideration, as participation is limited to a total of 30 participants.
The 2026 Academy sessions will be held at the Sandra Lloyd Community Center. Classes are scheduled once per week for three hours on the following Mondays from 6-9 p.m.:
September 14, September 21, and September 28.
October 5, October 12, October 19, and October 26.
November 2.
Participation in the program is limited to Riverton residents who are at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Selection is contingent upon a review of applicants, and a background check will be conducted for each successful applicant prior to participation.
