Sept. 6 was the last day Nina Pacchia saw her husband, Ryan Cutter. He drove her from their Summit Park home to the Salt Lake City International Airport, where Pacchia flew to Germany for work. They joked. Shared a kiss. Hugged goodbye. A few days later, Cutter, a firefighting helicopter pilot, left for his weeks-long shift on fires around the country, a schedule the couple had grown used to.
