In 1984, Linda “Big Linda” Wittkopf rowed the Colorado River through Cataract Canyon as its estimated daily flow reached nearly 115,000 cubic feet per second — about nine times the canyon’s highest daily flow so far this year. Linda “Big Linda” Wittkopf rows through the Grand Canyon in the 1980s.
