Agriculture teacher Matthew Zierenberg launched Wasatch High School's farm five years ago as a way to provide his students with hands-on experience and summer employees with a gateway to university. The farm has generated about $400,000 in revenue, much of which has been spent on student employees' wages and scholarships.
