The Copperton Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on September 2, 2026, to discuss several municipal amendments, according to a notice published August 20.
The virtual meeting is set to begin at 6:00 PM. During the hearing, the Commission will consider a resolution to amend Copperton’s land use fee schedule, presented by Brian Hartsell.
Additional agenda items include amending Section 15.08.011 of the Copperton Municipal Code to adopt the 2024 Edition of the International Wildland-Urban Interface Code, in accordance with H.B. 41 of the 2026 General Legislative Session of the State of Utah. This item is being handled by planner Brian Tucker.
Also scheduled for discussion is a proposal to amend Section 19.50.020 of the Landscaping, Screening, and Water-Efficiency Standards chapter of the zoning ordinance. This proposal aims to limit exemptions for single-family dwellings to align with the original intent of the ordinance, according to the notice.
The Planning Commission will hear a staff presentation regarding the ordinance amendments before taking public comments. The Commission will act on the proposed items following the public comment period.
