Nephi City has announced a proposal to increase its property tax revenue. If the proposed budget is approved, the city would receive an additional $523,000 in property tax revenue per year. This would represent a 109.30% increase in budgeted property tax revenue above last year's revenue, excluding eligible new growth.
The proposed tax increase would affect residential and business properties. For a $448,000 residence, the tax would increase from $121.48 to $254.04, representing a yearly increase of $132.56. For a $448,000 business, the tax would increase from $220.86 to $461.89, an increase of $241.03 per year.
Nephi City is inviting concerned citizens to a public hearing to hear comments regarding the proposed increase and to explain the reasons for it. The hearing is scheduled for August 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Juab County Building The Senior Center Meeting Space located at 160 N Main St. in Nephi.
Citizens have the option to participate in the public hearing either in person or virtually. Instructions for virtual participation will be available at nephi.utah.gov no later than 24 hours before the scheduled start of the hearing.
