An emergency water shutdown was issued for Liberty Avenue between Canfield Drive and 1225 N. due to a pipeline in need of immediate repair, according to a notice from the city.
The shutdown affects hydrants in the area, with service restoration estimated for 1:45 p.m. on September 16, 2026. Residents may experience discolored water as a result of the shutdown.
Officials recommended that residents run cold water from a bathtub faucet until the water clears to help flush home water lines. It was advised that residents avoid using hot water or washing light-colored laundry until the water runs clear. Once emergency repairs are complete, crews will flush lines in the area.
The city apologized for any inconvenience caused by the repairs. For questions, residents can contact 801-629-8321 during business hours.
