BYU is set to host ESPN's College GameDay for a top 10 matchup against Notre Dame on Saturday, Oct. 18, according to a report published Oct. 15.
This marks the first time the program has hosted the program since 2009 and is only the second time in BYU history that the event will be held on campus.
Steve Young, a former BYU standout and NFL MVP, will serve as the celebrity guest picker for the event, as announced by the Pat McAfee show on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Young joins legendary BYU coach LaVell Edwards as the second celebrity guest picker in the school's history. Edwards famously wore Cosmo headgear in 2009 after Lee Corso picked the Horned Frogs to defeat BYU.
The College GameDay broadcast will take place on the lawn at Heritage Halls on the BYU campus.
Fans are asked to park in the Marriott Center parking lot and walk to the set. While the official line for the event begins at 3:00 PM on Friday, Oct. 17, students have already begun camping out.
'The Pitt' is scheduled to open between 3:30 AM and 4:30 AM on Saturday morning, Oct. 18. The show is scheduled to run from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM Mountain Time and will be available on ESPN, ESPNU, the ESPN App, and Disney+.
The matchup against Notre Dame is scheduled for 5:30 PM local time on Saturday, Oct. 18, and will be broadcast on ABC.
BYU has been featured by College GameDay four times and remains winless in those appearances. Previous appearances include a 2004 matchup against Utah, a 2020 game against Coastal Carolina, and a 2026 appearance in Lubbock for the game against Texas Tech.
The Cougars will look to break their winless streak during the Saturday night game against Notre Dame.
