The Orem Events Advisory Commission will convene on May 14, 2026, at the City Council Conference Room #1002. The meeting is scheduled to run from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 56 North State Street.
Ashley Shumway will lead the welcome and oversee the review and approval of minutes from April 16.
The agenda includes several city updates, including an overview of the Oremfest safety plan provided by Heath Stevenson. Other city-related topics involve volunteer recruitment with Kenice Whitaker, a magazine and Oremfest campaign update from Pete Wolfley, and an appreciation dinner discussion led by Sydney Wong Bailey.
Crystal Muhlestein and Jeff Lambson are also scheduled to provide City Council updates.
Commission updates will cover a variety of specific event components. Topics include the VIP fireworks tent, car shows and Memorial Day, a business showcase, boutiques, children's crafts, orchards jam, and a baby contest involving Madisen McArthur and Suzanne Whitaker.
Additional items on the agenda involve parade elements, including float voting with Taylor Fox and the baby contest winner float with Suzanne Whitaker.
The commission will discuss an Oremfest evaluation survey with Kenice Whitaker and note that there will be no meeting in June. Following this session, sub-committees are scheduled to meet.
The next meeting is planned for Thursday, July 9, 2026. The public is invited to participate in all city meetings.
