Tooele Valley travelers have the opportunity to weigh in on regional road, transit, walking, and bicycling plans for the next three decades. According to a October 22 report, the Wasatch Front Regional Council and Tooele Valley leaders have released the Draft 2027–2055 Tooele Valley Long-Range Transportation Plan for public review.
The plan identifies transportation requirements for the growing Tooele Valley, including improvements to roads, transit services, and pedestrian and bicycle connections along major corridors. Proposed active transportation facilities include improvements to the Midvalley Highway, 33rd Parkway, Droubay Road, and State Route 112.
Regarding transit, the plan supports continued Utah Transit Authority service, including commuter bus Routes 451 and F453 between Tooele Valley and Salt Lake City, as well as UTA On Demand service. The report notes that expanded On Demand service could occur later if additional funding is obtained.
Tooele City Mayor Maresa Manzione stated that the plan helps identify necessary transportation investments to support local jobs and regional movement while preserving community character.
An open house is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tooele County Building Auditorium, located at 47 S. Main St. in Tooele. Residents may also submit project-specific comments through an interactive GIS map through Nov. 22, 2026.
