A woman has been charged with first-degree felony child kidnapping after allegedly taking a 9-year-old boy without permission, sparking an Amber Alert on Friday.
Marie Erika Lynn Marsh, 33, faces the kidnapping charge following the incident in South Salt Lake. According to reports, the woman allegedly used her own children to gain access to the boy, who is the son of an acquaintance.
In addition to the child kidnapping charge, Marsh faces a possible charge of obstruction of justice, which is classified as a capital or first-degree felony.
The incident led to the issuance of an Amber Alert on Friday.
