Sundance Mountain Resort has received top honors from two major travel authorities. According to a notice from the resort, the destination retained its One MICHELIN Key in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide and was named the #3 Resort in the Mountain West in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Condé Nast Traveler recognition makes Sundance Mountain Resort the highest-ranked Utah resort in the Mountain West category. Additionally, readers of the publication named the resort as one of America’s 20 Best Ski Resorts.
Sundance Mountain Resort President Chad Linebaugh stated that recognition from MICHELIN and Condé Nast Traveler readers is meaningful because it speaks to the entire resort experience. Linebaugh noted that the sense of place at the resort comes from the mountain, the arts, the approach to hospitality, and the staff.
The resort has maintained its One MICHELIN Key distinction for three consecutive years, having first received the honor in 2024. The MICHELIN Guide uses this designation to recognize outstanding hotel experiences through independent inspections.
In addition to its accolades, the resort maintains a focus on conservation, with seventy percent of its terrain permanently set aside. The property is located at the base of Mount Timpanogos in Utah.
Founded by Robert Redford in 1969, Sundance Mountain Resort is a four-season destination that integrates outdoor recreation, art, and culture. The resort is currently undergoing improvements under new stewards, including the fine tuning of operations, an enhanced skier experience, and the opening of the Inn at Sundance.
