Grand School District is actively implementing safer bus stop locations to protect students, drivers, and community members. Due to a continuous increase in traffic on Highway 191, officials are adjusting several stop locations for safety reasons.
The district is relocating six current bus stops away from the highway.
The following bus stop changes have been announced:
Scenic View Hotel/Hwy 191 stop will move to San Jose/SV Dr or Mesa/Desert Rd.
Sherri Griffith/Hwy 191 stop will move to Plateau Circle/Spanish Valley Dr.
Merriam Court/Hwy 191 stop will move to the Sunny Acres/Hwy 191 parking area.
Business Park/Hwy 191 stop will move to the Sunny Acres/Hwy 191 parking area.
Jackson/Hwy 191 stop will move to Jackson/Jefferson.
Boulder/Hwy 191 stop will move to 524 Jefferson.
According to the Utah Administrative Code R277-600.6(A), families are responsible for transporting students to and from bus stops located within 1.5 miles of their home. The six relocated stops comply with this regulation.
Transportation Director Anna Conrad noted that parents can assist by reviewing new locations and safety reminders with children, ensuring students arrive five minutes early, and using designated parking or exit areas when waiting near Highway 191 stops.
