The West Haven City Council is scheduled to hold a public meeting on Oct. 7, 2026, according to a notice published Oct. 1. The scheduled evening includes a work session followed by a regular meeting led by Mayor Vanderwood.
The evening will begin at 5:00 PM with a joint work session for the City Council and the Planning Commission held in the City Council chambers. This session is intended for clarification and no action will be taken on agenda items discussed during this time. The work session will include a discussion involving elected officials and the City Manager, as well as a presentation regarding the Parks Master Plan by Community Development Director Stephen Nelson.
The regular City Council meeting is scheduled for 6:00 PM. Agenda action items include approval of the Sept. 16, 2026, meeting minutes and a consent agenda item for CPCO, LLC involving $160,229.80 for invoice #3117. The council will also consider an ordinance amendment regarding zoning from A-1 to R-2 for parcels located at 2057 S 2700 W, involving applicant Trek Loveridge. Additionally, the council will act on resolutions to appoint Matt Earl and Derek Malan as prosecuting attorneys, and Tracy S. Cowdell of Cowdell Law, P.C. as the City Attorney. A bid award for Windsor Park improvements, presented by City Engineer Edward Mignone, is also on the agenda.
The council may enter into a closed session to discuss a strategy session regarding the purchase, exchange, or lease of real property. Residents may attend the meeting and are allotted three minutes to express concerns or ask questions regarding issues not listed on the agenda. Digital access to the proceedings will be available via Zoom and YouTube.
