The West Haven City Council is scheduled to hold a public meeting on Oct. 7, 2026, according to a city agenda published Oct. 1. The evening will include a work session at 5:00 p.m. and a regular city council meeting at 6:00 p.m.
The 5:00 p.m. work session, held in the City Council Chambers, will feature discussions involving elected officials and the City Manager. Additionally, Community Development Director Stephen Nelson is scheduled to provide a presentation regarding the Parks Master Plan. No action can be taken on items discussed during this work session as the purpose is clarification.
The regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. includes several agenda action items. The council will consider action on the consent agenda, which includes minutes from a meeting held Sept. 16, 2026, and an invoice from CPCO, LLC for $160,229.80. The council is also scheduled to act on a zoning amendment for parcels 1500760118, 154230002, and 150760158 on 2700 W., submitted by applicant Trek Loveridge. Furthermore, the council will consider resolutions to appoint Matt Earl and Derek Malan as prosecuting attorneys, and Tracy S. Cowdell and Cowdell Law, P.C. as city attorney for civil legal services.
Other scheduled actions include awarding a bid for Windsor Park improvements, presented by City Engineer Edward Mignone. The council may also enter into a closed session to discuss a strategy session regarding the purchase, exchange, or lease of real property.
Several upcoming community events are scheduled for the following weeks, including an Arts Council Workshop at The Barn on Oct. 12, 2026, and an Open Sew Night at The Barn on Oct. 19, 2026. Other events include Barn yarns Storytelling on Oct. 22, 2026, and a Pumpkin Walk at R. Kenneth Baldwin Country Park on Oct. 26, 2026.
