Hinckley Town will hold a public hearing on Oct. 15, 2026, to discuss the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, according to a Oct. 5 notice. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Hinckley Town Council Chambers located at 161 E 300 North in Hinckley.
The hearing is scheduled for 6:30 PM and is expected to last until 7:00 PM. The purpose of the session is to provide citizens with information about the CDBG program and allow for discussion regarding possible applications. Topics of discussion will include eligible activities, program requirements, and expected funding allocations within the region.
Hinckley Town is eligible to apply for CDBG funding through the Utah Department of Workforce Services, provided the town meets applicable program requirements. The program is a federally funded initiative administered by the State of Utah's Housing and Community Development Division (HCD).
The CDBG program can fund various activities, including the construction of public works and facilities such as sewer and water lines or fire stations. It may also fund real property acquisition and public services, including food banks or homeless shelters.
If Hinckley Town decides to proceed with a CDBG funding application, a second public hearing will be held at a later time to discuss specific projects. For individuals requiring special accommodations during the meeting, Hinckley Town requests notification at least three days prior to the hearing. Those with speech or hearing impairments may dial 711 for Relay Utah.
