Several former local high school athletes played significant roles in BYU's historic 28-24 victory over No. 2 Notre Dame on Saturday, Oct. 17, according to a Lehi Free Press report. The win marked the first-ever meeting between two top-10 teams at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
True freshman wide receiver Legend Glasker, a former Lehi star, contributed significantly to the win. Glasker, who earned a starting role during spring and fall camp, recorded 66 receiving yards on five catches and added rushing yards to finish with a game-high 75 all-purpose yards. His performances included a 19-yard gain during a second-quarter drive and a 26-yard reception in the fourth quarter that helped lead to the game-winning score.
Glasker is currently BYU's leading receiver through six games, with 24 catches for 444 yards and three touchdowns. He is the only true freshman in the Big 12 to record a game with at least five catches this season.
On the defensive side, former Skyridge standout Tausili Akana started on the defensive line and recorded two tackles and a pass break-up. Akana, a redshirt junior, leads the team in tackles-for-loss with 6.5 and sacks with 3.5.
Defensive end Hunter Clegg, a former Caveman star and team co-captain, recorded two solo tackles and a hurry. He has 10 total tackles and an interception this season. Redshirt senior defensive end Bodie Schoonover, an American Fork alum and team co-captain, recorded three tackles and a hurry against the Irish. Schoonover is tied for sixth on the team with 15 total tackles.
Other local players involved in the game included freshman offensive lineman Bott Mulitalo, a Lehi resident and former 4-star recruit from Lone Peak. Additionally, former Caveman tight ends Noah Moeaki and Will Zundell, both redshirt sophomores, participated in reserve roles against Notre Dame.
