The No. 20 Utah Utes dominated the Arkansas Razorbacks 43-10 on Sept. 12, 2026, at a sold-out Rice-Eccles Stadium to improve their season record to 2-0. Wayshawn Parker accounted for three touchdowns while quarterback Devon Dampier surpassed 6,000 career passing yards during the decisive victory in Salt Lake City.
Offensive Dominance and Milestones
The Utes built a 26-point halftime lead during the Sept. 12 matchup, fueled by an offense that scored 260 total yards in the first half alone. According to University of Utah Athletics, the team's margin of victory, 33 points, represents the largest margin against an SEC opponent in the program's history, surpassing a 14-point win over Alabama in the 2008 Sugar Bowl.
Parker Leads Scoring Effort
Running back Wayshawn Parker delivered a standout performance, totaling 118 all-purpose yards. Parker scored two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown, marking his first multi-rushing touchdown game since the 2024 season while playing for Washington State. Per University of Utah Athletics, Parker has now totaled six touchdowns through the first two games of the 2026 season, a feat not accomplished by a Utah player since at least 1998.
Dampier and Bennee Shine
Quarterback Devon Dampier completed 18 of 24 passes for 261 yards and two rushing touchdowns. During the second quarter, Dampier reached the milestone of 6,000 career passing yards. He finished the night 12-2 as the starter for the Utes. Tight end Noah Bennee provided a significant target for Dampier, recording a career-high 113 receiving yards on four receptions, including a 57-yard touchdown catch.
Defensive Pressure and Breakups
The Utah defense recorded 13 pass breakups, the second-highest single-game total in program history and the most since 1998. Defensive tackle Jireh Moe led the unit with a career-high eight tackles and a six-yard sack in the second quarter. Johnathan Hall also contributed eight tackles and one sack, while Elijah Elliss and Nate Tilmon each recorded sacks.
Razorbacks Struggle on Road
Arkansas struggled to find rhythm against the Utah defense, managing only 10 points. The Razorbacks' quarterbacks were held to a completion percentage under 50 percent, marking the second consecutive game in which the Utes achieved this defensive feat. Arkansas' only touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 21-yard pass from AJ Hill to Ismael Cisse.
Soldout Crowd at Rice-Eccles
The game was played before a sellout crowd of 51,532 fans. This marked the 97th consecutive sellout at Rice-Eccles Stadium, excluding the 2020 season when no fans were in attendance due to the pandemic. All Utah home games since the 2010 season opener have been sold out with the exception of 2020.
Looking Ahead to Utah State
Utah's offense has scored 30 or more points in eight consecutive games, a streak that Stats Perform identifies as the longest active streak in the FBS. The Utes will return to Rice-Eccles Stadium on Sept. 19 to face Utah State.
