Montana State defeated Weber State 38-33 in Bozeman, Mont., according to a report published October 24, 2026.
The Bobcats victory follows a 56-20 win over Eastern Washington last Saturday.
The Montana State football team is returning to Bobcat Stadium for the first time since a win over NAU on September 26. This marks the first time the team has played at home in four weeks.
Weber State enters the matchup with a 5-3 overall record and a 4-1 record in conference play, currently sharing the Big Sky lead with NAU. The Wildcats are led by first-time collegiate head coach Eric Kjar and have recorded wins against Northern Colorado, Northwestern State, Cal Poly, Idaho, and Idaho State this season.
Montana State head football coach Brent Vigen noted that Weber State has become a changed program under Kjar. Vigen commented that the Wildcats have been able to get back on track and are finding ways to win games.
According to Vigen, the Weber State defense is aggressive and leads the Big Sky in sacks this season. He noted the defensive line is composed of high-quality players who stay fresh by playing a significant number of snaps.
The series history between the two programs favors Montana State with a 15-7 record, including five consecutive wins. Last season saw the largest margin of victory in the series when Montana State won 66-14.
Individual standout performers for the Wildcats include junior receiver Noah Kjar, who has 47 receptions for 711 yards and 10 touchdowns, and leading rusher Spencer Ferguson, who has recorded 543 yards and seven touchdowns on 72 carries. Sophomore linebacker Teni Worthen leads the team in tackles with 36, including one sack and two forced fumbles.
Montana State's next scheduled game is at 1 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium against Weber State. The team aims to move to a 7-1 overall record and a 4-1 conference record. The status of MSU wide receiver Taco Dowler remains questionable for the contest.
