Utah's measles outbreak has entered its second year with more than 700 confirmed cases statewide. The outbreak continues as students at Brighton, Olympus, and Skyline high schools prepare to return to classrooms within three weeks.
The Granite School District in Holladay is scheduled to begin the 2026-27 school year on Wednesday, August 12. This occurs five days before the Canyons School District in Cottonwood Heights opens on Monday, August 17.
Registration deadlines for both school districts are expected to arrive within the next week.
The ongoing outbreak comes amid Utah's high vaccine exemption rates.
