The San Juan County Weed Department performed management of State and County declared noxious weeds within the region. The department worked to inform landowners when these specific plants were identified on their land.
In its management efforts, the Weed Department collaborated with other government agencies. These partners included the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Land, as well as the Bureau of Land Management, to manage noxious weeds on lands administered by those entities.
Beyond managing specific plant species, the department also oversaw vegetation located on county right-of-ways. Additionally, the department provided education to various groups regarding noxious weeds.
The Weed Department operated out of the San Juan County Courthouse located at 117 South Main, Monticello, UT 84535.
