The Harley Fire in Box Elder County has reached an estimated size of over 150 acres, according to a report published August 21. Crews have established a dozer line around the fire's perimeter in an effort to hold the blaze as a storm system with strong winds approaches the area.
Road closures and traffic impacts have been reported in the area. Canal Road/7600 W remains closed to through traffic. On I-15, northbound lanes remain open, while southbound lanes are closed.
Power outages have been reported in portions of Tremonton and Garland following a power shutoff in the affected area. The Garland Armory has been designated as an evacuation center.
Additional resources are traveling to the location to support suppression efforts. Authorities advise the public to avoid the area, follow all evacuation instructions from local officials, and allow space for emergency crews to work.
