A head-on collision between a motorcycle and a Jeep resulted in a fatality on August 28, 2026, in Bear Lake County, Idaho. The accident occurred at 11:22 AM on Minnetonka Cave Road, west of St. Charles.
According to Idaho State Police, a 22-year-old male from North Ogden, Utah, was riding a white 2026 Kawasaki KLX110 motorcycle eastbound when he collided head-on with a tan 2005 Jeep Liberty. The Jeep was being driven westbound by a 66-year-old female from Montpelier, Idaho.
The motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt and was not transported from the scene.
The road was blocked for approximately four hours following the incident. The Idaho State Police were assisted by the Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Bear Lake EMS, Bear Lake Fire, and Intermountain Life Flight.
