The Uintah County Library has released its September 2026 newsletter, providing updates on library programming, staff development, and community engagement efforts. The publication details recent successes from the summer reading program and outlines various events scheduled for the month.
According to the newsletter, the library's summer reading program saw significant participation, with over 1,650 patrons visiting throughout the summer. Patrons collectively read a total of 748,094 minutes, surpassing the previous year's record by 246,601 minutes.
Breakdowns of reading minutes by age group include 266,638 minutes for children, 78,295 for teens, 203,348 for adults, and 199,813 for ULC staff.
In staff development, a library staff member named Lindsey attended the Youth Services Round Table Winter Conference through a Utah State Library Professional Development scholarship. Lindsey stated that the conference helped lead to new programs such as the Choose Your Own Adventure Book Club and provided information regarding the My529 scholarship for teens.
The newsletter also lists several upcoming library activities for September, including weekly watercolor classes and the Sit and Stitch program on Thursdays. Other scheduled activities include Rubber Duck Cosplay on September 8 and a Sound Bath and Meditation session on the first Wednesday of the month.
Additionally, the library will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on September 21. The library is also scheduled to be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.
The newsletter also highlighted the library's outreach efforts via the Little Library Express and the availability of EBSCO Learning Express as a resource for academic and career development. Information regarding future events, such as Halloween at the Library and various October activities, was also included in the update.
